how it came abt

this is the set of ocs that ive had for the longest and they are oh so dear to me. i came up with the concept late 2022 heavily inspired by the short-lived dabloons trend on tiktok. ( if ur not familiar, it was a cute fantasy role-playing thing that lasted about a month at most, one of the only good things to come out of the app ). the role-playing nature of the whole thing led to people coming up with their own characters and some really cool art was made that subsequently inspired me!! ill try hunt some of it down later :P.

redwood is a fantasy videogame idea with the overall design concept of: plants big, animals small because i think its cute. you play as a deer named juniper - or juni - who is a traveller set out on a journey to do god knows what. this story is more of a visual project than a story one if that makes sense. theres not really any lore in place yet but i have TONS of ideas for the environments and character design. the setting is split into five biomes: a mushroom forest, a dry desert, a tropical rainforest, snowy mountains and a marsh. the mushroom forest is the main area and the main cast live in a settlement inside of an old redwood tree.

how it came abt

there wasnt really a single thing i can think of that set this off but i think i decided i wanted to play around with some dnd concepts after watching either a PricklyAlpaca or Sketches of Shay video on youtube(go check them out, great artists) and it evolved into me making my own species based on real life animals. first sketches are around summer 2025 i think. there is still a strong dnd inspiration for sure but ive kind of made this world my own thing. this is also the only one of my stories that is actually a story !!!! unheard of!! yeah i actually have a plot for this one lmao. probably my fav project out of the bunch. i have no clue what medium this would be if i were to actually make it a thing tho. comic maybe?

this story has yet to be given a name. it is a nature-heavy fantasy story about corruption and leadership. it follows a dnd-style party of five characters who stumble across something larger than them. classic. as previously mentioned, im not much of a writer but i wanted to make a work of art about the obvious state of our world today and sort of process through my complicated feelings about it. this story is a criticism of many things but its also a tribute to nature and all thats good in the world. id love to get to tell this story one day once ive sorted it all out.

these characters were originally going to be part of an apocalypse story but i decided to rework them into a tribute to punk and alternative culture. i dont have any sort of story in place for these guys but i imagine the world is sort of cyberpunk or steampunk. something like that. theres a ?motif? of the biohazard symbol showing up a lot. i want that to be relevant. anyways i just think these guys look cool and would love to do something with them. these also first appeared around summer 2025.
